As much fun to say as it is to drink, the "Punggl" Pinot Grigio (named for the hill it is grown on) is loaded with ripe and inviting aromas of waxy pears, yellow flowers and sandy minerality. The wine is medium in body with notes of baked pears and wildflower honey finishing with a texture that makes you want pair an alpine cheese. — Jeff Porter (Wine Enthusiast). Sommeliers Choice Awards 2021 GOLD MEDAL. Flavors of peaches, lemon, tangerines, and passionfruit lead to notes of flint. A complex and well balanced finish with flavors of tangerines, lemons and jasmine notes. The soil on the hill is a stratification of grey clay content. The Mediterranean climate is characterised by hot summers and mild winters from the Ora , a warm wind which comes from Lago di Garda. The grapes are are harvested by hand , pressed and the must is fermented for 3-4 weeks in 30 HL wooden barrels. Afterwards the wine is aged on the lees for another 8 months. The vines were planted around 80 years ago, and this gives an incredible depth - ripe orchard fruits and spring flowers. The savoury, rounded palate packs loads of creamy white peach, apple and a hint of wet stone alongside tangy acidity.
